KG THERM
Insulated glass by Kochhar Glass, also known as double glazing or double-pane glass, is a type of glass construction that consists of two or more glass panes separated by a spacer and sealed around the edges. The space between the glass panes is typically filled with air or a noble gas, such as argon by us. KG Therm provides several benefits, including improved thermal insulation, sound reduction, and condensation control. Insulated glass contributes significantly to energy efficiency, comfort, and overall building performance.
Glass Panes: Insulated glass units (IGUs) consist of two or more glass panes. Common thicknesses for each pane can range from 4mm to 12mm or more, depending on the application.
Spacer: Our glass panes are separated by an aluminum spacer, especially imported from Italy. The spacer creates an insulating air space between the glass layers.
Sealant: The edges of the glass panes are sealed with a durable sealant to ensure an airtight and watertight unit.
Air or Gas Filling: The space between the glass panes is filled with air or a low-conductance gas (argon or krypton), providing improved thermal insulation compared to single-pane glass.
Low-E Coating: To further enhance energy efficiency, one or both of the glass panes have a low-emissivity (Low-E) coating, which reflects heat back into the interior while allowing visible light to pass through.
Noise Reduction: Insulated glass helps reduce noise transmission, making it effective for applications in noisy environments or areas with specific acoustic requirements.
Reduced Condensation: The insulating layer between the glass panes helps minimize condensation on the interior surfaces of the glass, reducing the risk of moisture-related issues.
Variety of Glass Types: Insulated glass units can be customized with various types of glass, including clear, tinted, reflective, or patterned glass.
Reduced Heat Transfer: The insulating layer and low-E coatings help reduce heat transfer, making insulated glass units more energy-efficient compared to single-pane glass.
Industry Standards: Insulated glass units should meet industry standards to ensure consistent quality, durability, and performance.
